Item description from seller

Oversized softcover with white wraps, black text across front cover and along spine. Corners gently bumped, a few faint scuffs to back cover. A few notes from former owner and butterfly expert Lincoln Brower on front cover: "ON EN" in reference to his bibliographical organization system, Endnote, and "Gifted to LPB [Lincoln P. Brower] from TDS, 4 Oct 2005." The "TDS" in question is likely Theodore D. Sargent, a former professor of behavioral ecology whose bookplate appears on the front attached endpaper. Sargent also passed another book from this series along to Brower, listed separately. An email exchange between Brower and Sargent regarding the book is printed out and stapled to the back of the title page. Front cover dated 2001. No date on title page, no separate copyright page. 239 pages. All clean and bright, still glossy. Colorful photographs featured throughout text. Binding is tight and secure. We’ve got a wonderful bookcase or two of books from Lincoln Brower’s collection listed here. Everything you know about Monarch Butterflies, you know because of Brower’s work, both scientific and outreach. He was a great teacher, an important researcher, a torch-bearing conservationist, and a leading light in lepidoptery. We are extremely excited to offer his books. Please email with questions or to request photos. Note: if there is a photo beside this listing, it’s a STOCK photo that ABE put there (for reasons that we cannot understand or control) and might not match this actual book.

Description de la boutique

We're at 805 Caroline Street, in the heart of Fredericksburg's historic district. Open Monday to Saturday 10-6; and Sunday 12-5. In warmer months we stay open until 9 most nights, but you might want to call ahead. (540) 373-6148 Shipping rates are for Media Mail, in a padded envelope - WE DO NOT ADD TRACKING UNLESS THE CUSTOMER REQUESTS IT AND PAYS FOR IT - we have been selling books online for more than 20 years & find that the USPO delivers 99.99% of packages quickly and safely, without any need for a tracking number. We trust them & we hope you will too. If you need tracking, please consider PRIORITY SHIPPING. We ship orders valued at more than $50 in a box, at no additional charge. Priority mailing is for a Flat-Rate envelope, with tracking included. If the book does not fit into a flat rate envelope, we will likely need to request extra shipping costs from you, in order to put it in a box. We only charge the actual amount of shipping, so we hope you'll understand that it's just a matter of getting the book to you without taking a loss on it -- shipping is a service we happily offer without a 'handling' charge.... but we can't afford to charge you less than the cost of the stamps!
