A propos de cet article

A complete two volume set of this new edition collection of anecdotes and tales originating from the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. Complete in two volumes. New edition. A Latin collection of anecdotes and tales that was likely compiled in the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. Intended as a manual for preachers, it was probably written by one of the clerical profession though the true authorship is unknown. The unifying element of the stories is their moral purpose, with a variety of material including: Of the Sin of Pride, Of Three Kings, Of Perfect Life, Of Reflection, and Of the Constancy of Love, amongst others. With an introduction by Thomas Wright, an English writer, scholar, and antiquarian who was a prolific writer and an editor of medieval texts and one of the founding members of the British Archaeological Association. In the original paper covered boards. Externally, worn with the front board of volume one detached and the front board of volume two detached but present. Light rubbing and chipping to the extremities with sunning to the spines. The odd small mark to the boards with light bumping to the board edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and minor age toning to the extremities. Some of the text block remains unopened. Good.…
