Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Limited Edition. From the Limitation page at the front of the book: 'This is a Limited Edition of Gone With The Wind presented in celebration of the dedication of 'White Columns on Peachtree,' home of WSB and WSB-TV, Atlanta, Georgia. Presented To John L. Burns by J. Leonard Reinsch' (see photo of the signed inscription)). Considered by many collectors to be the rarest edition of the novel, these editions were printed by WSB-TV in early 1956 as a special gift, when they were dedicating their new headquarters on Peachtree Street. The mayor of Atlanta issued a proclamation declaring that day, April 8th, WSB Day and this special edition of Gone With The Wind was issued to mark the occasion. Apparently there were only 500 copies printed. 'J. Leonard Reinsch was a broadcasting executive. He was a former President and CEO of Cox Communications. Behind the scenes, he gave advice to four Presidents. He assisted the White House Press Secretary office in 1945, during the transition from President Franklin D. Roosevelt to President Harry Truman and advised Winston Churchill on his 1946 'Iron Curtain' speech. In 1973, Reinsch retired from Cox Broadcasting. In March of that same year, he was presented the coveted Gold Medal award from the International Radio and Television Society.' You can see the covers of the book in the photos. There's a little wear at the top edge of the spine, including a closed tear and a tiny loss. I have a loose bit of the leather from the spine that's a little larger than this little loss and will include it inside the book for anyone who wants to cover the little space that is showing. The gilt lettering on the spine is quite bright. On the front there are a few small scuffs. The front top edge also has a few thin scuffs, and there is one tiny scuff on each of the two bottom edges. The four corners each have a small scuff as well. The page edges are exceptionally clean. This often bodes well for the pages themselves and it is the case here. This is a thick book with 1037 pages, so the binding is quite important. Here it is excellent. All of the pages are nicely, tightly bound, and that is the case with the covers as well. A really solidly bound book. Happily, the interior of the book is in excellent condition. I've gone over the text pages many times without finding any instances of soiling. They are also nicely bright. There are a few spots of foxing off the top edge of the frontispiece (and one off the top edge of the blank verso of the frontispiece). This caused a very light corresponding spot just off the top edge of the facing title page (I've included a photo of both pages) There is no other instance of foxing to be found in any place within the book. The pages are also in very nice condition. I found fifteen consecutive pages with a small, light crease just off the bottom edge, not near the print. I also saw eight consecutive pages with a small, light crease above their bottom corner, again far from the print. Finally I saw six consecutive pages with a tiny nick at their top edge, nothing much of anything, not tears. I didn't see any other creasing, no placeholder creases, no turned-down corners. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. And Mr. Reinsch's signed dedication represents the only writing to be found anywhere in the book. Once listed, the book will be the least expensive signed copy of this rare limited edition for sale on the Internet. N° de réf. du vendeur 005700
