Elephant folio; hardcover; 64 unnumbered pages. Quarter leather; gilt top edge; tight binding, clean throughout; beautiful marbled endpapers; Near Fine. This is copy #10 of 300, though only 65 sets were ever released, of which 25 were bound. Containing reproductions of the 10 oleographic color plates from watercolors done by Hannah Millard, this is an outstanding, exact facsimile of the original,which was published by the California State Viticultural Association in 1877. It was considered a highly important book both for its place in viticultural literature and for its construction in the tradition of fine printing in San Francisco. Few copies remain of the original edition; only around 12 are known to exist in private and institutional collections today (per John Windle). . N° de réf. du vendeur 165357
