A propos de cet article

Morris, Barbara M., with an updated sequel by Charlotte T. Iserbyt. The Great American Con Game. Escondido, California: Image FX, 1997. Expanded republication; printing not stated. Softcover. 137 pages. Octavo (8vo), approximately 8.375 × 5.375 inches. ISBN 0966784294. Scarce expanded 1997 republication of Barbara M. Morris’s critique of developments in American public education, issued with a substantial updated sequel by education researcher and former U.S. Department of Education policy adviser Charlotte T. Iserbyt. Morris’s original 1986 text is reproduced without alteration, followed by Iserbyt’s sequel beginning on page 97 and bringing the authors’ arguments and chronology through the mid-1990s. The book addresses outcome-based education, behavioral modification, curriculum restructuring, federal education policy, school-to-work programs, international educational planning, and the authors’ broader concerns regarding the changing purpose and administration of American public schools. A scarce publication of particular interest to collectors and researchers of alternative education history, conservative educational criticism, public-policy controversies, and the writings of Charlotte T. Iserbyt. Condition: Near Fine. An exceptionally well-preserved copy that appears unread, with a firm, stiff binding, clean and unmarked pages, an uncreased spine, bright wrappers, and sharp corners. No writing, highlighting, ownership marks, tears, stains, or other notable defects observed. The copy could reasonably approach Fine, but is graded conservatively as Near Fine. No dust jacket, as issued. Offered for collectible, historical, bibliographic, and research purposes only. Hidden Shelf Books does not endorse or verify the claims, legal theories, political views, or instructions contained in this publication. Not legal, tax, financial, or professional advice.…
