Edited by Henry Cope Colles, an English music critic, music lexicographer, writer on music and organist. He is best known for his thirty-two years as chief music critic of The Times and for editing the third and fourth editions of this work. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor wear and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
