Tobias G. Natter es un experto de renombre internacional en la Viena de 1900. Durante muchos años trabajó en la Galerie Belvedere de Viena (Austria), de la que llegó a ser conservador jefe. Ha sido comisario invitado de la Tate Liverpool, la Neue Galerie de Nueva York, el Hamburger Kunsthalle, el Schirn de Fráncfort del Meno y en el Museo Judío de Viena. Entre los años 2006 y 2011 fue director del Vorarlberg Museum de Bregenz y, entre 2011 y 2013, del Leopold Museum de Viena. En 2014 fundó Natter Fine Arts, especializada en la valoración de obras de arte y el desarrollo de ideas para exposiciones. En TASCHEN ha publicado los libros Gustav Klimt.
