f/piece (drawing of A.-A. gun position in Naples)+251 pp., 3 maps and 13 futher ills all on plates ex-pagination; fr. endpaper inscribed 'Mother/from Hal/12th July 1946' ('Hal' definitely author as copy provenance is ex-Adrian Eele library), main internal problem is tanning/foxing to front endpaper through to verso front blank fly leaf and to a lesser degree top last few pp. alos intermittently marginally throughout and quite heavy spotting to fore-edge and top, fr. endpaper also slightly rippled. Red cloth covers clean and unworn; unclipped jacket unworn, some faint cup rings to front otherwise clean, however top edge folded over due to jacket being 0.5 cm over-length. Scarce.
