Hardcover leather over boards. 8vo. vi, [1], 441, [20] pp. Illustrated with two large, b/w, multi-fold, tipped-in engraved maps. Red leather label with gilt short title and author in gilt pasted on spine. Gil compartments (6) and ornaments stamped on spine. Edges darkened. Foxed throughout. Amoral bookplate (Richard John Castell, Esq.) on front pastedown. Gift inscription on page 1 dated December 2, 1806. The text block is clean and unmarked, besides the foxing. Binding is strong and square. Slight damage to the fold of the second map where it sticks out past the block. Spine and boards are rubbed, bumped, worn, and cracked along the entire front hinge (board still attached). Fair condition overall; the text is clear and easier to read though some care will need to taken around that front board.
