Six full leather bound volumes, repaired, with the original spines laid on to new leather, damp affected with wavy pages (less so to Vol I Part II and II Part I), and some plates separating from the paper, rubbed and worn, tightly bound. Spines rubbed and worn but with new letter, old spines attached to the new leather with some of the old spines flaking off. Pagination: Vol I Part I [6], XXV, [i], 288pp with 68 plates; Vol I Part II [4], 289-720pp with 19 plates; Vol II Part I [xii], 466pp, with 30 plates; Vol II Part II [4], 467-753pp with 21 plates; Vol III Part I [xviii], 364pp with 18 plates; Vol III Part II [4], 365-773, [1], [74]pp with 26 plates. Provenance: no inscriptions or bookplates. Approximately 8 ½ inches (22cm) tall. Condition Report Externally Spine fair to good condition repaired spines with the original spines laid on, rubbed and worn with some loss to the gilt titles and or decoration, some of the old spines flaking off the new leather. Joints good condition repaired, rubbed and worn. Corners good condition worn and bumped. Boards good condition the original crushed morocco boards with gilt decoration, worn, marked and scratched. Page edges good condition top edge darkened, all gilt. Binding good condition repaired, rubbed and worn, contemporary binding. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound, historically repaired. Paste downs good condition red paper, damp affected, inner gilt dentelles. End papers good condition red paper, damp affected and stained. Title good condition tanned, minor foxing, damp affected, wavy. Pages good condition tanning but generally clean, damp affected, wavy, some plates separating from their surrounds, deeply tanned / darkened to some pages. See photos.
