Stated sixth American edition. Five volumes, each volume with its own title page and pagination. 953; 1014; 912; 704; 720pp, [2] tables. Volume One illustrated from engravings. Each bound in full contemporary calf, spines with raised bands creating five compartments the second from the top with a red leather label with "Scott's Bible" in gilt, and the fourth from the top with the volume and the abbreviated titles of the first and last book of the volume in gilt. All with wear to the boards and spine, all have damage to the endpapers whether in staining or tearing, all with foxing throughout, and some with scattered staining; Volume Two has a bit of loss to the black leather spine label, mold damage to the front endpapers affecting the first several pages, and is missing pages 1009-1012; just a fair to good only set though the bindings remain sound and tight. The printed publication dates are as follows: Volume One - 1816; Volume Two - 1817; Volume Three - 1818; Volume Four - 1816; Volume Five - 1817. The first three volumes contain The Old Testament, the last two volumes contain The New Testament; Volumes Four and Five are printed as Volume One and Two on their title pages, but this is to indicate that they are Volumes One and Two of The New Testament.
