William C. Bartlett is currently the pastor of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Laguna Hills, California. A graduate of St. Olaf College, Luther Theological Seminary (St. Paul, Minnesota), and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, Bartlett has also served congregations in Minnesota, Illinois, and Arizona. Pastor Bartlett's efforts at evangelism and church growth have been especially effective; his last three congregations have all been among the 100 fastest-growing of the ELCA's 11,000 churches. At his present parish, membership has grown by 500% and the budget has quadrupled over the last eight years -- and that's not including the construction of a satellite campus and the opening of a Christian elementary school.
