Ajouter au panier"Hours in a Library" by VIRGINIA WOOLF. 1957; Harcourt, Brace and Company; New York. With an illustrated frontispiece portrait of Woolf. From the introduction by Leonard Woolf (Virginia's husband): ".there is little to say about the essay except that it gives the truest possible picture of her own attitude to books, to reading, and to the art of literature. She was one of those people who have a passionate love of and interest in both life and art. Great literature gave her enormous pleasure, but so did life and human beings and the comedy and tragedy of everyday living. And she went to the library and to books for two purposes, on the one hand to enjoy great works of art, and on the other to follow, to relive in imagination, the strange, fantastic, ridiculous, moving story of human beings and human lives in every age and country in which men have written books." Condition: Clean covers; there are small areas along the left and right edges of the spine where the blue cloth has discolored. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are clean and appear unread with no notable issues found. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.
