A propos de cet article

Printed paper wraps with many in-line engravings, period advertising and magnificent fold-out color map of the Hudson Valley. Very uncommon early steamship guide to the Hudson River and environs. Complete but with heavy wear and soling to the torn covers; pages soiled with age toning; some notations in pencil; fragile binding. The color map is nicely folded and appears in very good state. Wallace Bruce (1844-1914) was a writer, poet and orator born in Columbia Co., N.Y. He was educated at the Hudson River Institute in Claverack, N.Y. and Yale University, he distinguished himself as a scholar, writer and orator associated with the Hudson River.
