Synopsis :

This project is a review of current literature in the area of the communication process. Specifically, it is a comparison between the different aspects of the human interpersonal communication process and the interactions that occurs between humans and machines. The purpose of this project is to determine whether the different aspects of human interpersonal communications are not only present in the interaction between humans and machines, but whether these aspects behave in a similar manner. This project contains an outline of the basic rhetoric for human interpersonal communication and for human-to-machine interaction. Examples of both types of processes are culled from both ancient and contemporary literature, then each individual component in the communication and interaction processes are identified. Further, it proposes the term, ?Machinahomoconferology? to describe the holistic field of study related to the bi-directional exchange of information between humans and machines.
