ABOUT THE BOOK: In today’s changing scenario, the key objective of national security is not only to protect the country from external aggression but also to maintain peace and harmony. To maintain law and order, peace and harmony, the Government should carry out the process of assimilation effectively without any delay and discrimination. However, the present situation in North East region of India is a logical culmination of negligence by the State as wel l as Central Government since independence of the country. With this perspective an attempt has been made to examine the internal security environment of Northeat region a long wi th geostrategic aspects and influence of external powers. The central theme of the book is to understand the insurgency of Northeast region in a comprehensive manner. The book mainly concentrates on the issue of Assam’s insurgency and counterinsurgency since 1985. The book also deals with various aspects of counter insurgency policies formulated by the Central Government of India and State Government of Assam. The implications of insurgency and counter insurgency on India’s national security have been exclusively articulated by the author. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Onkar Sadashiv Pawar has been working as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Defence and Strategic Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon since 2013 under the University Fund. He is B.A., M.A. and NET in Defence and Strategic Studies. He has pursued his Ph.D research work from Dept. of Defence and Strategic Studies, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. His area of Interest is in national security and defence budgeting. He has worked as Research Assistant and then Lecturer in PG Dept. of Defence and Strategic Studies, Bhonsala Military College, Nashik at the beginning of his career. He has participated and presented several research papers in Sate, National and International Seminar. He also has attended various workshops and orientation programme. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. We give extra discount for the bulk purchase orders. Our prices includes shipping charges. The customer do not have to pay any extra charges at the time of delivery but if your Country charges VAT and customs that has to be born by the customer.
