Lebanese poet, writer, and critic, Henri Zoghaib is a leading cultural figure in the Arab world. His poetry, at once tightly condensed and intensely emotional, has been translated into several languages. This edition provides the first multi-lingual translation offering each verse in the original Arabic, English, French, and German.
Poems are juxtaposed with illustrations by the artist, Wajih Nahle, giving readers a book that is both visually stunning and a rare entry into Arabic poetry.Henri Zoghaib is a Lebanese poet with many books to his credit, including poetry, criticism, and translation. Born in Lebanon (1948), he has been a principal monitor of many cultural circles in his country, where he founded the poetry magazine L'Odyssee (1982). His collection Love Poems In Forbidden Time, translated by Adnan Haydar
and Michael Beard, was published in 1991 by New Pen Bond Publishers in Washington, D.C.
