Pages are virtually pristine and intact except for light age toning. Covers are very clean and intact except for light to moderate browning, tiny chips at head and tail of spine, and a split at tail of spine measuring 3/4." A Very Good copy. This is a government report about irrigation in the Sacramento Valley, California, Bulletin 207 of the United States Department of Agriculture, Office of Experiment Stations series. Authored by Samuel Fortier with the assistance of O. W. Bryant. The report was published on the occasion of recent irrigation projects amid the Sacramento Valley's transition having a grain-based agriculture to general agriculture. Excerpt from Director of the Office of Experiment Stations A. C. True's Letter of Transmittal: "This report shows the advantages to be derived from irrigation and discusses possibilities, methods, and costs." Among the topics discussed in the report are soil, crops, overflow or flooding in the Sacramento Valley, water rights, cooperation of different agencies for the irrigation projects, Yolo County, Cache Creek, Moore Ditch (Woodland Ditch), Capay Ditch, Winters Ditch, Cottonwood Ditch, Central Ditch, High Line Ditch, Wyatt Ditch, Adams Ditch, cost of water, Butte County Canal, Stony Creek near Orland, seepage, irrigated crops, and experiments.…
