Julie Mehretu (*1970 in Addis Ababa, lives and works in New York) is one of the most influential contemporary artists today. Since the 1990s, she has exhibited extensively at major institutions across the US, UK, and Europe, including mid-career survey exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2021), and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (2019).
