With a critical introduction addressing the wide range of issues raised by the text, this edition of The Jungle is coupled with illuminating documents to show why the novel stands as a classic of twentieth-century American literature and social protest.
À propos de l'auteur: CHRISTOPHER PHELPS is associate professor of History at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. A specialist in twentieth-century American intellectual and political history, he is the author of Young Sidney Hook: Marxist and Pragmatist (1997), in addition to numerous journal articles and reviews.
