In the Preface, Catron dedicates this third volume to ancestors; the records collected of the Kettenring family are the work of 28 years up to April 1, 1978. Content is in alphabetical order by surnames and given names with blood parent name or the person to whom married. A short history of the Kettenring family follows the Preface, indicating German ancestry. From the "Register of the Counts of Rheinflaz", an entry reads: "Rupert III, Count of the Palatinate and Holy Roman Empire, at Nuernberg on Mar. 20, 1401 conferred upon Fritz Kettenring, townsman of Lauf, a half fief situated at or near Lauf." Many spellings of the name come from the inability of some who could not read and write or through error. All Catrons in America are related except the black, who are descendants of Mosby Catron, who took his master's name. Laid in are personal letters with family information, charts and additional information from family members. Post it notes and small notations within album indicate references to additional names within. 1537 pp. Approximately 10 lbs. to ship. CONDITION: Red hardcopy entitled in gilt on cover, gilt title on spine reads "Kettenring, Kettering, Kettring, Ketring, Ketron, Kettron, Cattron, Catron. An excellent source of genealogical history. Due to weight and size, additional shipping may be required and requested at time of purchase. Full refund if not satisfied. N° de réf. du vendeur 074912
