Kill Screen

Jack never thought he'd break into his best friend’s house...especially not to investigate his death.

Jack Valentine is one of the best video game programmers in the business, but that never prepared for the secrets he would find on his best friend’s personal computer.

After Daxter’s sudden, and troubling death, Jack uncovers some surprising things that he never knew about his friend. One of those things happens to be an experimental A.I. program that is so brilliant it could virtual reshape the computing world overnight.

Unfortunately, Jack isn’t the only one interested in this program. As a mysterious figure begins trailing Jack from the shadows, Jack gets caught up in a web of deceit, corporate espionage, and a battle with his own personal demons.

Set in the heart of tech culture in the mid-’90s, Kill Screen offers an unprecedented look at the workings of the video game industry. Tapping into his decade of journalistic experience, Benjamin Reeves offers a detailed history of artificial intelligence while exploring the themes of loss, personal forgiveness, and the social issues surrounding our ever-advancing technological culture.
