À propos des auteurs: Tamra Werner is a single mother of three children, works for a prominent university, and is a children's marine life author. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Arts and Sciences, a MicroMasters in Design Thinking, and a Master of Higher Education and Leadership Communication. Koli, the great white shark, was born from the creative minds of her children playing with their great white shark puppet they named Koli. Each night, Tamra and her children would make up stories about their fictional friend, and she promised she would write a book on Koli one day. A decade later, Koli's Birthday Adventure book was released worldwide. Children fell in love with the lovable character, wanted him to have a friend, and inspired her to write Koli's Friendship Adventure. Tamra learned of the organization OCEARCH and joined them on a shark expedition in Nantucket in 2019. Their mutual love for sharks and children resulted in a licensed partnership with her book Koli's Friendship Adventure. A portion of the proceeds benefits OCEARCH's research and STEM programs.

Alan Gesek is an Adjunct Professor of Art and Design at the College of Art and Design at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY. He teaches several foundation art, design, and multi-disciplinary courses focusing on his diverse background. Alan holds an Associates in Graphic Design, Bachelors in Illustration and Master of Fine Arts in Medical Illustration all from RIT.
