How People Live steps into ordinary days: wet markets, teahouses, bowls of spicy rice noodles, wild mushroom season, and the long, easy evenings of a city that rarely hurries.
Along the way you will meet warlords and poets, engineers and tea masters, families who migrated here and young people who came for a weekend and stayed. You will learn why a plateau lake needed thirty years to recover, how a vanished kingdom cast its bronze, and what a bowl of crossing-the-bridge noodles really means to the people who eat it every morning.
Every chapter follows the same path. It opens on a scene from the city today. It then tells the true story behind that place. It draws out what the story reveals about Kunming's character. And it closes with practical guidance: one section for travelers, with routes, timing and local tips, and one for business visitors, on how the local culture shapes meetings, meals and trust. We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.
Our team will provide full instructions on how to return your order and once received our returns department will process your refund.
Please note the cost to return any unwanted order to us is borne by the buyer.
