A propos de cet article

Title proper, LESHON LIMUDIM, is romanized from Hebrew. Two phrases in contents, "to technikon" and "to historikon", are romanized from the Greek. [2], [16], 135 pages plus folding table between page 14 and 15. The folding plate, 20 x 16 cm., is a table printed in black and red showing "De verbo paradigma explicitum conjugationum Hebraicarum." This is a revised version of a grammar of Hebrew, with remarks on Chaldean, which had first been published in 1638. Bythner was a native of Poland. He became a member of Oxford University about 1635, but removed to Cambridge at the start of the Civil War; in 1651 he again appears at Oxford, but about 1664 he retired to Cornwall, where he practices medicine. "Bythner's grammatical works, though written in curiously faulty Latin, are models of lucid and compact arrangement, and continued long in use." -- DNB. Front board detached. Cecil Roth MAGNA page 362, number 6. Wing B 6416.
