Paperback. Abstract expressionism Art, martial arts, life memoirs, the bartender's lifestyle and the last four decades of history are revealed in Tomas Morch's book, Live Life Through Art. This collection of subjects points remarkably at visible aspects of our society. The book profoundly discusses current social dilemmas: the lifestyle in hospitality, modern artistic views, short sarcastic anecdotes, downfalls and successes, motivational speeches, and ideas ranging from meditation to the mentality of a chess game.Being influenced by the last decade of the fading communist regime, growing up in an era of new political freedom and democracy, and later moving to live twenty years in West London's cosmopolitan society created the best positive turmoil for a young-minded man who always went against the odds. The book uniquely and openly discusses how the internet, globalisation and the free UK job market were influenced and developed by foreigners in the hospitality sector, and how life in Western Europe changed significantly in the last twenty years. This comes from a man who believes that visualising your success is only the beginning of your life journey. In his book, Tomas Morch gives his important views on martial arts and meditation, how drug abuse can misleadingly cause your downfall, how your artistic ambitions can redeem your life and put it back on track, and how painting abstractly can beneficially complete your life. Being an abstract expressionist artist is a unique life journey and lifestyle that you must not only choose to act on but also live truthfully through your body and mind. The idea of Tomas's book can be described in short: "You don't need eyes to see; you need a vision." À propos de l’auteur
Tomas Morch was born during the 1980s in Czechoslovakia, during the twilight of the Communist regime. As a child, he joined a secret Scouting troop and spent almost a decade exploring the wonders of nature and learning to appreciate its heritage.
In his teenage years, Tomas pursued studies at a hospitality school, graduating with distinction after five years of rigorous training. During this time, he honed his skills as a professional bartender, developing a passion for American freestyle bartending. This love for the art launched his entertainment career which took him to places such as the Czech Republic, Germany, and eventually London in the United Kingdom.
Martial arts has been another lifelong pursuit for Tomas. Starting with Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo and Aikido as a teenager, he would later expand his expertise into various mixed martial disciplines, reflecting his dedication to personal growth and mastery.
Tomas inherited from his father, Vladimir, a deep appreciation for art where he had the opportunity to observe his father at work, reproducing oil paintings by renowned impressionists painters such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and Paul Cézanne. With a passion for drawing since a young age, Tomas eventually embraced abstract expressionism as his preferred style. What started out as merely a hobby eventually blossomed into a full-time career as a painter of modern abstract expressionism.
After moving to London in 2005, Tomas has been greatly inspired by London’s cosmopolitan culture and realised that he had an urge to share his life’s experiences through writing his book Live Life Through Art. In it, he reflects on contemporary art, martial arts, the hospitality industry, his successes and setbacks, motivation, and self-discovery as both an abstract painter and a writer.
