Among the topics discussed and illustrated are illuminated manuscripts, incunabula, the Renaissance, Robert Estienne, Geoffrey Tory, Firmin and Pierre Didot, French Revolution, influence of Germany and Italy, Alphonse Daudet, and Anatole France. Bound in the original gilt-stamped blue boards with a cream cloth spine lettered in blue. The front cover features a gold archer with drawn bow about to release an arrow. . Hardcover.
