230 pp. 8.5" x 6.5" SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS John Tenniel, originally hesitant to illustrate another of Carroll's tales after the printing disaster that marked Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, agreed to take on the chess game of Through the Looking Glass. This 1893 reprint features Tenniel's iconic line work as Alice tumbles back through her dreamland, into the world of Red and White Queens and talking chess pieces. Charmingly bound in cream illustrated cloth, this copy will transport you to Carroll's magical world; a world where one can believe in six impossible things before breakfast. Slight lean, small spots of wear to extremities, lightly soiled and rubbed boards, gently toned spine, light abrasion from removed bookplate to front pastedown, still near fine. Publisher's full cream cloth, illustratively stamped in gilt, navy, and light blue. N° de réf. du vendeur 241884
