Synopsis :

In this rapturous romance, a woman grieving her sister's death vows to protect herself and her newborn niece -- even if it means turning away the dashing and irresistible heir to a Texas oil dynasty.

Katherine Adams will never marry a Manning -- not if she can help it. Her sister Mary's fairy-tale marriage into the family's wealthy, powerful dynasty turned into a nightmare of abuse. And on the night her playboy husband was killed in a car accident, Mary died in childbirth. Now, the savvy, smart, and very angry Katherine has vowed to protect her sister's child, even if it means rejecting the dashing, charismatic oil man who shows up at her door.

Katherine wants to believe that Jason Manning isn't like his ruthless family. But secrets and lies are part of his heritage. And Katherine could be destroyed by a truth she's afraid to face . . . and a man she can't resist.

Paperback. Etat : Used. Welcome to the dizzying world of ?Love Beyond Reason,? the 1994 literary explosion penned by none other than Sandra Brown, a name that, if you squint hard enough, might just conjure images of melodramatic escapades and dizzying romances that could rival a soap opera on a particularly tempestuous day. Warner Books, known for its flair for publishing titles that promise to deliver everything from heart palpitations to existential crises, has outdone itself with this one. It?s a vintage blend of passion that feels equally like a warm embrace and a brisk slap across the face, depending on how you interpret it. Picture this: a cover that could easily be mistaken for a ?90s perfume ad, featuring an impossibly attractive couple with windswept hair and expressions that suggest they?ve just shared a particularly spicy secret. Really, it?s the kind of image that incites jealousy in those of us whose love lives resemble a series of unfortunate events rather than a sweeping romantic saga. But let?s face it, in the realm of literature, who doesn?t want to believe in love that transcends mere logic? This book promises just that and more, all wrapped up in a package that screams ?look at me!? As you hold this tome in your hands, you may find yourself wondering what draws readers to Sandra Brown?s work. Perhaps it?s the intoxicating cocktail of suspense, romance, and the occasional inexplicable plot twist that keeps you guessing and shaking your head in disbelief. Or maybe it?s the sheer thrill of experiencing a narrative where love is depicted as a grand gesture that can defy not just reason, but possibly the laws of physics. After all, isn?t it heartwarming to think that love can soar beyond mere logic into the realm of the miraculous? Or does it leave you questioning your own taste in literature? The plot, while shrouded in mystery, undoubtedly includes a love story that will leave you feeling a complex mixture of longing and puzzlement. Characters likely experience a range of emotions that could fill an entire season of therapy sessions, navigating through misunderstandings, passionate reconciliations, and the inevitable twist that will make you throw your hands up in exasperation. Will they, won?t they? The suspense is thick enough to cut with a knife, or at least a slightly rusty spoon. But wait! There is more to this literary feast than just unrelenting romantic turmoil. The book is also a window into the mid-90s zeitgeist, where hair was big, phones had cords, and the concept of texting was purely speculative. The dialogue is probably seasoned with just the right amount of dramatic flair that could make Shakespeare roll in his grave with either laughter or envy, depending on his mood that day. A plot twist that will make you reconsider your entire relationship with logic. Characters whose emotional development might require a map and a compass. Romantic escapades that could double as Olympic events in emotional gymnastics. Dialogue that is as sharp as a butter knife, yet memorable enough to quote at dinner parties. A nostalgic glance back at a time when love was both a thrill and a mystery. Condition: Used, but don?t let that fool you?this book has been well-loved by its previous owners, sporting creases, a few rogue coffee stains, and perhaps the lingering scent of a bygone era. These imperfections only add to its charm, allowing you to contemplate the many hearts it may have touched (or confused) before reaching your hands. Each bend in the spine tells a story, and each coffee stain is a testament to the fervent reader who could not put it down?if only to ponder the intricacies of love, life, and the absurdity of it all. So if you?re ready to embark on a journey through ?Love Beyond Reason,? be prepared for a ride that may leave you breathless, bemused, or perhaps both. After all, nothing says romance like a book that dares to defy logic while also functioning as a delightful conversation starter at your next gathering. Get ready to experience the whimsical absurdities of love, courtesy of Crappy Old Books, where every title has a story, even if it is a little cracked around the edges. THIS BOOK BEARS THE CRAPPY OLD BOOKS STAMP. IF THAT IS UNDESIRABLE PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS. THE STAMP MARKS WHICH IS USUALLY TO THE FRONT AND BACK INNER PAGES SAYS SOLD BY CRAPPY OLD BOOKS WITH WEB SITE URL. IT IN NO WAY DEMINISHED FROM THE READING. IF YOU WANT A PRISTINE BOOK, PLEASE FIND ANOTHER BOOK IN BETTER CONDITION SOMEWHERE ELSE. N° de réf. du vendeur 419
