Black morocco spine labels in the second and fourth compartments with gilt-tooled title, Meckel's Anatomy, and volume number. All page edges speckled black. Translated from the German (Handbuch der Menschlichen Anatomie) into French, with additions and notes, by A.J.L. Jourdan and G. Breschet; translated from the French, with notes, by A. Sidney Doane. Includes bibliographical references and index. Contents: Syndesmology -- Myology -- Angeiology -- Lymphatic Glands (Adenology) -- Vascular System -- Nervous System. Stamp of former owner Charles S. Cole, Jr., of Bryn Athyn, Pa., on front fixed endpaper and at foot of title page. Front fixed endpaper also bears bookplate of the Academy of the New church Library, stamped "Discard." Perforated stamp of the Acadmey Library, Bryn Athyn, Pa., on blank leaf following front free endpaper; six-digit number stamped at foot of first page of Preface. Blank leaf following front free endpaper bears inscriptions of former owners: Michael B. Talbot, M.D., 1875 University of Buffalo; Dr. Robert J. Talbot; Dr. Owen E. McCarty, Toronto; Dr. F. Gerald McCarty, Loyola University 1932.
