Hardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Fine. 1st Edition. Maple Leaf Route: Caen; Terry Copp and Robert Vogel; published by Maple Leaf Route, Alma, Ontario, 1983. From the foreword Maple Leaf Route: Caen is the first volume in a new series on the Canadian campaign in Northwest Europe, 1944-1945. This volume contains the story of the planning of Overlord and the details of Canadian operations during the first month of the campaign. The authors have gone back to the primary sources to present a fresh account of the strategy and tactics of both the Allied and German Armies. The text is complimented by contemporary photographs, War Art, a new series of maps oriented to illustrate the thrust of the Allied assault, and facsimiles of War Diaries from Canadian Infantry regiments. The title of the series comes from the symbol used to mark the path that Canadians travelled on their long road to victory the Maple Leaf Route. This large format book, 119 pages plus appendices measuring 228mm X 302mm, is in fine condition as is the dust jacket that is now enclosed in a protective mylar wrap.
