Karyn is a professor of education at the University of South Alabama, where she teaches courses in early literacy and children's literature. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in the classroom and has taught students at every level, from preschool through college. Dr. Tunks has written four books for early childhood teachers and celebrates her adopted home state of Alabama by writing picture books, including Jubilee! and USS Alabama: Hooray for the Mighty A! She lives in Fairhope, Alabama, with her family and their three-legged cat.
