While England battled it out in the Far East, Jansen had taken a holiday to Rome where he was involved a serious traffic accident. Matthew Jansen is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker and a manager. He started his career with hometown club Carlisle United, and also played for Crystal Palace, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers as well as a loan spell with Coventry City.
