Historical fiction set in January and February 1901. It describes life in the household of a middle class Edwardian family and has as a focus the death and funeral celebrations of Queen Victoria. It also details everyday events such as shopping, the death of a pet, and a birthday party for the twins.
À propos de l?auteur: I am an artist, poet and author. I edited Stan Spicer's Poetry, a self-published chapbook containing the poetry of my father Stan Spicer. (1927-1999). See You In Seattle is a fictionalized account of my own childhood visit to the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Included are the snapshots I took there. A fun trip down Memory Lane for older folks and a great intro to mid-century Pacific Northwest Coast history for kids. Also available is Christmas Cookie Exchange about a family baking tradition. And The Misses Carruthers is the first in a series of historical books about five little sisters in Edwardian England. My poetry has been published by Painted Hills Review, Westwind Review, Pointed Circle, and (Happy Times) Concordia Publishing House. Additionally the Oregon State Poetry Association has awarded me Honorable Mention in two of their Poetry Competitions. I make crazy quilts and colorful and intriguing folk art/outsider art style painting along with multimedia and papermache objects. My painting Caedmon Raymond and Friend was chosen for the juried exhibit Of Hearts and Hands at the North Central Washington Museum in 1992 and one of my quilts won a blue ribbon at the Clark County Fair.
