'The Moss Troopers' is set in the early 19th century, and is a Galloway novel of smuggling and romance. Written in 1912, it is also one of Crockett's last novels. The book is bound in the original dark green cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling to the boards. The titling on the spine and front board is worn and the spine ends are bumped with a little damage. The contents are tight and clean with some foxing to the first and last few pages, including some marks on the title-page, and there is also foxing to the fore edge of the text block.
