A propos de cet article

Colour illustrated wraps 20 x 27cm. (2), 30pp including 15 b/w plates (including 2 line drawings from the French colonial Controller of Fisheries JB Pietri's Voiliers d'Indochine 1949, and 13 full-page b/w photos), with woodcut illustrations in-text + folding sheet containing 4 illustrations. Covers very good, slightly stained. Interiors near fine. Rare with 7 locations on Worldcat (LoC, US Dept of State, Washington University, Peabody Essex Museum, Syracuse University, British Columbia University, University of Hawaii at Manoa). None on Jisc. On message, he states "A new era of prosperity has come to the coastal villages of Vietnam" (p4). Schoettler describes the boats, construction, problems, solutions, and the increased catches. Photos include a Master Fisherman along with boats, fishing and coastal scenes, and a close-up of the engine used. The folding sheet has a longitudinal section illustrating the motorisation method.…
