This is the first printing (1986 and only printing) of this completely rewritten and reformatted bibliography based on the author's earlier 1978 version. This 1986 edition has a greatly expanded number of listings than that of the 1978 edition, but with less general information and less subject matter information. The 1978 edition has informational sections on subjects. These have been omitted from this 1986 version which is a straightforward bibliography consisting of book listings from cover to cover. Each listing has a very brief description of the contents/subject. The book measures 214mm tall x 135mm and has 296 pages. This remains the best bibliography of English language mountaineering books, indispensable to collectors and those interested in the subject. The main section covers mountaineering non-fiction. Other sections are Guidebooks, Fiction, Journals & Periodicals, Bibliographies, Addenda.
