Second Edition, hardcover. 511 pages. Sixth printing of this John Murray second edition, 1928 (originally 1901). Good to very good, bit of soiling/rubbing on rear cover, foxing (spotting) on page edges, owner info (partly inked out) on front pastedown (endpaper), vertical crease on last couple of text pages (due to the nature of the folding maps behind). Overall, a surprisingly solid and tight copy, given that the book is nearly 100 years old. Journal of researches into the natural history and geology of the countries visited during the voyage round the world of the H.M.S. 'Beagle' under command of Capt. Fitz Roy. With numerous black & white illustrations, both inline and full-page plates. With two fold-out maps at rear, followed by the index and four pages of advertisements. Scarce in these old printings.
