This volume is a collection of papers presentedat the 2007 colloquium on new perspectiveson games and interaction at the Royal DutchAcademy of Sciences in Amsterdam. Thepurpose of the colloquium was to clarify theuses of the concepts of game theory, and to identify promising new directions. This important collection testifies to thegrowing importance of game theory as a tool to capture the concepts of strategy, interaction, argumentation, communication, cooperationand competition. Also, it provides evidence forthe richness of game theory and for its impressiveand growing application.
