A propos de cet article

- An original 6-1/2 inch high by 5-7/8 inch wide sepia-toned photograph of the Highland Street house of the American Author Edward Everett Hale. The image depicts the Greek Revival house, then located at 39 Highland Street in Boston, in late Fall with denuded trees flanking the property and in front of the fence. The photograph is inlaid within a 10-5/8 inch high by 7-1/8 inch wide sheet of cream paper. Near fine. A fine example of Greek Revival architecture, Edward Everett Hale's house was built around 1841 by a local carpenter Benjamin Kent. It was then located at 39 Highland Street. It was later moved by Hale to 12 Morley Street sometime between 1899 and 1906.The American author Edward Everett Hale (1822-1909) wrote the well-known Civil War poem "The Man Without a Country".
