FIRST & ONLY SMALL EDITION OF [250] COPIES ONLY . . * This meticulous work, was compiled by Thierry VINCENT. . This uniquely superb reference covers the photographs taken by the most celebrated French photographer working in Indo-China from around 1900-1910. . He photographs remain as some of the very best visual records of the life, people, customs, native peoples [Moi or Montagnardes] and other native residents of North and South Vietnam [Annam & Tonkin]. . Dieulefils took superb photographs, meticulously recording for posterity, the best images on old Vietnam: Tonkin, Cochin-chine, Annam, Laos, Cambodia & of Angkor during this period. . The work is also a major reference and copious list of the photo-illustrated postcards he produced, a catalogue d'raisonne and guide to his cards. . Collectors, dealers and others cite "Dieulefils Numbers" when referring to any of his 4800 numbered cards, some say he actually produced more than 5000 different cards in all. . Lovely photographs of some of this best work. There are only three reference books of any substance on the subject of Indo-Chine postcards, this being the most copious, valuable and useful. . *** RARITY: Since its Private Publication, in a very small edition, this reference book has always been RARE, SCARCE and impossible to find. . *** THE BEST ILLUSTRATED REFERENCE ON THE SUBJECT OF INDO-CHINA: . Moi]. . The heroic and patriotic role of the "pirates" or other "insurgents" who openly resisted and fought the French, often they poisoning their food and drinking water, in desperation. The tragic and brutal treatment after their capture and their severe punishment by the French. The resulting firing squad, beheading, Guillotine or long imprisonment for both men and women resistors are recorded for posterity. . *** PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE VIETNAMESE ROYALTY: KINGS, QUEENS, LAOS, AND THE CAMBODIANS RECORDED FOR POSTERITY: .
