Great reading copy, Save money and recycle books! Shipped with care in a bubble mailer. --- Giorgos Grollios examines Paulo Freire's thinking on curriculum planning, translated into English from a Greek original. The book takes up three questions: what Freire held about the curriculum, how that position developed historically and what kind of perspective it is, and how it compares with other approaches and holds up today. The first chapter follows Freire's formation as a radical liberal educator, and the second traces how he built a perspective for curriculum planning, including its content and process. The third chapter studies the curriculum reform in Sao Paulo, covering the Workers Party, its intervention in formal schooling, the link between planning and wider educational reform, and the final texts. Conclusions, a bibliography and an index follow. Feel free to ask for photos or more detail.…
