Hardcover loose at hinges with tears, front and back. Significant tear along hinge at front pastedown. Cloth torn and frayed along hardcover corners. Pages rough cut along rear edge. Very slight tear at top of frontispiece page, not affecting illustration. Foxing and tanning on front and rear end papers. Book otherwise clean and tight. Some pencil marks on verso contents page. Includes author's signature, and following inscription, dated January 17, 1919 - "To Claude J. Montefiore, Esp. M.A., the eminent scholar and noble Jew, a small token of admiration from the author. Angelo S. Rappoport, 17/1/1919." Signature and inscription appear to be in black pen. This is my personal collection from which I am de-accessing most everything, including a vast amount of ephemera, art work (steel engravings, pouchoir, collotype), movie posters (of the 1940's - 50's) and a mass of important 19th c. bound periodicals (Oology to Archeology, Mathematics, Botany, Knitting), and 20th c. Art journals, Italian Fascist publications, etc., culled from Walter J. Johnson's liquidation, as well as a collection rare jazz records, including 100's of Boogie Woogie and BeBop '78s, And much more, just ask.
