Featuring a frontispiece portrait of the author as well as decorative initials, head and tail pieces, and three further full page plates of engravings of charming landscapes. Collated, complete.Containing Gray's original poems as well as translations into English and Latin verse of the works of Petrarca, from the Anthologia Græca, and others. In full calf Eton College prize binding, with five raised bands and gilt tooling to the spine, Eton College lion crest to the front and rear boards, gilt to the edges. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, minor rubbing to the spine and extremities of the boards. School Prize inscription to the Eton prize sheet bound in with the volume, dated 1894. David Douglas bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean, only few odd spots to odd leaf.
