This gorgeous book is a real gem. Its condition and binding craft make this book a handsome addition to anyone's library. The red buckram covering is in beautiful condition and the tooling and design-work with the gilt lettering is spectacular. The covers, edges, and corners show virtually no time or handling wear, and the colors on the binding are bright and as new. The interior body is incomparable condition. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown and some penciled initials on the ffep. The paper in the text body has browned somewhat with age but remains in fine condition. The numerous photographs of personalities are present and interesting to see. The book is about great men and women who provide through their life and work practical lessons on successful living. There are over fifty personalities treated here with a few being Edward Everett Hale, Alanzo Stagg, and Frances Willard.
