CHEMISTRY PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY BY BLACK & CONANT MACMILLAN 1929 VERY GOOD. I am reverting again to some of the technology books that I have been listing because digging in the bottom of a box, I found this gorgeous copy of a vintage chemistry book, still glistening, which will look great on your collector s shelf (please be sure to see the photos). I am pleased to offer: Practical Chemistry Fundamental Facts and Applications to Modern Life, by Newton Henry Black and James Bryant Conant, both once on the faculty at Harvard. This small hard cover book (5 ¼ x 7 ½ inches, 522 pages with Tables of Atomic Weights and Numbers decorating the rear endpaper) was published by The Macmillan Company of New York, dated 1929 and the Revised Edition. It is bound in bright red cloth with raised lettering on the cover and bright gilt titles on the spine. The book is very well illustrated with both b&w photos and diagrams, schemata and drawings in the text throughout. This book is ex-library of the Hartford Public High School but has never been circulated and has a minimum of markings. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are bright and shiny and the raised lettering on the front is only exceeded by the gorgeous gilt titles on the spine. There is a handwritten shelf number (No. 21) on the spine. Inside, there is a library bookplate on the front endpaper but that is the only indication that it was a library book. The interior pages and plates (a few of which are full color) are generally clean and bright with just the slightest sign of toning and definitely no foxing. Both hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. N° de réf. du vendeur 2131
