Item description from seller

A charming early-twentieth-century novel by Stephen Jenkins, published by B. W. Huebsch of New York. Originally copyrighted in 1905, this is a 1907 printing from the acclaimed publisher known for supporting innovative American literature. The novel unfolds as a romantic narrative set against a backdrop of European adventure and courtly intrigue, exploring themes of loyalty, honor, and the complexities of love across social boundaries. Jenkins crafted a story rich in period detail and emotional resonance, popular with readers of his era and increasingly sought by collectors of early Huebsch publications. The volume is bound in original cream-colored cloth with an elegant Art Nouveau design featuring vibrant red nasturtium flowers and green leafy vines framing the front board. The title and author name are printed in green lettering within a decorative rectangular border. The spine carries matching green lettering reading "A Princess and Another / Jenkins" with the publisher's mark "Huebsch" at the base, accompanied by a graceful red flower motif. The cloth remains bright and vibrant throughout, with excellent color saturation and no staining or significant wear to the boards. The corners are sharp and intact. Pages are clean and bright with only minimal age-toning typical for a 120-year-old volume. The sepia-toned frontispiece is present and clear. Text is crisp and fully legible throughout. Publisher's advertisements for B. W. Huebsch titles appear at the rear. All pages are accounted for and secure. Binding note: The rear hinge shows beginning separation—a structural concern that collectors should be aware of before purchase. The front hinge remains firm and tight, and the binding is otherwise sound. This is honest disclosure: the separation does not currently affect the book's readability or display, but it indicates the binding may benefit from professional conservation if the book is to be heavily handled or passed to future owners. This condition issue is reflected in the asking price. Good condition overall—a readable and displayable copy suitable for literature enthusiasts and Huebsch collectors, particularly those interested in early-twentieth-century American publishing and Art Nouveau design. Honestly priced to reflect the rear hinge separation.
