A propos de cet article

Prepared under the Direction of the Joint Executive Committee on Vocational Education Representing the Pulp and Paper Industry of the United States and Canada. Xii,1043 pages, illustrations, diagrams, cloth, very good. Revised edition. From the foreword: In 1918, when the Joint Textbook Committee was formed, no books were available in English which brought together the principles and modern practice of pulp and paper manufacture. To prepare and publish such a work is a large undertaking; its successful accomplishment is unique, as evidenced by these volumes, in that it represents the cooperative effort of the pulp and paper industry of a whole continent. The first edition and the two later revisions comprised five volumes. The first two volumes covered mathematics and science for pulp and paper makers. Volume III described the manufacture of wood pulp and Volumes IV and V treated of stock preparation and the making and testing of paper. Of the first three editions, some 50,000 copies were sold.
