Synopsis :

This novel is a sequel to 'Retribution', which described an attack which took place at an iconic London location. Following the attack the authorities seek out the main perpetrators, a group of four. The Metropolitan Police are charged with finding them. Vicky Douglas is the police officer in charge of the investigation. Her team is assisted by Bernadette Bucheron, an Inspector in the Lyon offices of Interpol.

Two of the four escape on a motorbike from London and the other two make their way in a boat across the English Channel, but one is killed as the vessel nears the French shore. The killer turns out to be an Interpol agent who has a secret agenda.

An Irish policeman stumbles across one of the motorcyclists, after digging out a series of co-incidences, in a house in county Cork. The man is taken into custody for interview by Irish and British police. His accomplice makes her way to Spain and across Europe to the island of Capri. She has her own agenda in leaving Cork.

The undercover Interpol officer returns to Napoli and mingles again with the Camorra he set out to break. He hunts down the Don and his henchman, who are consumed with the idea of obliterating anybody who knew of their involvement in the London affair. The henchman's love of nature leads him to spending his precious Sundays in a National Park outside Napoli and he finds solace in his quests for the fauna of the forest.

The Don instructs a scourge of any persons who might know they were the ones responsible for passing the munitions to the perpetrators. The henchman does as instructed, killing them off one by one in grisly ways.

The police in France, Britain and Ireland begin to unravel the puzzle of who was involved in the London attack and the plots intertwine as they come together. Some secrets are held back by Bernadette Bucheron to protect the secret agent.

Locations swing throughout the novel, as the characters move between Britain, Ireland, Italy and France.

Factions come together on Capri and they join forces to corner the henchman. They fly around in a microlight aircraft until they home in on his location in the forest, as the plot comes to a conclusion.
