Printed clippings pasted to verso of front flyleaf and one rear blank. Small printed label - possibly indicating ownership - on titlepage. Occasional stains and soiling to text. Loss to lower edge of pages 453/454, just touching last line of text. Annotations in ink and pencil throughout. Overall, about very good. Early Colorado laws and imprint, heavily annotated throughout by a contemporary legal professional. Based on a small clipping pasted to the titlepage, this would appear to be the annotated copy of Judge Julius B. Bissell. Bissell was a native of Connecticut who served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Union army before moving west, eventually settling in Leadville in 1878. He was an initial member of the Colorado Court of Appeals when it was created in 1891, President of the Colorado Bar in 1904, and was memorialized by the Colorado Supreme Court after his death in 1906.
